Do your research, AA 788-Boeing 787 aircraft is the WORST. The seats 26K & 26L have no room between the seat you sit in and the seat in front of you. My husband and I are not over weight and I am 5ft 2in tall, husband is 5ft 8in tall and neither of us could reach our feet to take off our shoes for the 8 plus hour flight overseas. It was pure hell and should not be allowed. I contacted AA via their website once I got back to the states, it is the only way they will allow customer to contact them, and for any follow up, you must fill out all the same information on a new complaint form on-line. They make it impossible for customer interaction. NO SERVICE HERE Also, their solution to the known horrible seats is for the customer to upgrade their seats. The issue here is we didn't know the seats were like until we got into them. Customer beware. (See Response below)

Hello Mrs. Sullivan:
Thank you for contacting Customer Relations. We know that cabin comfort is very important to our customers. After all, most of the time on a flight is spent sitting. Our coach seat backs on your 788-Boeing 787 aircraft, while thinner, are made of modern cushion material that offer more comfort than our older seats. This, combined with the way the new seats recline, actually makes for a roomier seating area. Still, we understand that individual impressions about the new seat will vary, and we are disappointed to hear that you were not comfortable on your recent flight. We have shared your comments with our Cabin Design managers.
Whether it's to work or relax, we also understand that sometimes you just need a little bit more space. That is why we offer the opportunity to purchase a seat in our Main Cabin Extra section- which features up to six inches of additional legroom. Main Cabin Extra is now available on nearly all of our American Airlines aircraft.
Mrs. Sullivan, while we realize you are upset with us, we are glad you took the time to write and offer your comments about your recent travel experience. Our goal is to be the very best in the airline industry in terms of customer satisfaction and your constructive criticism will help us improve in the areas where we need to do so. Please travel with us again soon.
Sincerely,
Sonya Washington
